Data Protection Standard

Privacy Policy

Effective Date & Last Updated: August 2026

1. Overview & Scope

This Privacy Policy outlines how TrustGrid Community Network ("TrustGrid", "we", "our", or "us") collects, secures, and discloses information when you use our web platform, business directory, referral mechanisms, and community verification features.

TrustGrid is committed to protecting member privacy while providing a transparent, trust-based directory experience. We operate in compliance with applicable Indian data protection laws, Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) standards, and international security best practices.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three primary categories:

  • Business Identity Information: Registered business trade name, owner/founder legal name, operating address, category, phone number, website URL, GSTIN/license identifiers, and service catalog.
  • Account & Authentication Data: Mobile phone number, encrypted OTP access tokens, login credentials, and profile image.
  • Community Trust Graphs: Peer endorsements created via the "Update Trust" and "Recommend" actions, mutual connection ties, customer reviews, and referral notes.

3. How We Use Information

We process your data for specific, lawful purposes:

  • To maintain and publish accurate, searchable business directory cards and maps across Rajkot, Ahmedabad, and surrounding areas.
  • To verify business legitimacy and prevent bot-generated reviews or fraudulent directory listings.
  • To calculate aggregate trust scores ("Trusted by X members") based on mutual network endorsements.
  • To facilitate direct referral introductions requested by users.
Our Core Data Pledge: TrustGrid never sells your private address book or contact database to third-party telemarketers or automated advertising brokers.

4. Trust Graph & Peer Endorsements

When you click "Update Trust" on a business card, your endorsement (name, profile avatar, and connection status) is displayed on the public business detail view under "People you know who trust them".

This visibility enables mutual colleagues to discover trusted vendors through authentic social proof. You may withdraw or update any endorsement at any time through your dashboard or the business page.

5. Security & Encryption Standards

We employ industry-standard technological and administrative safeguards:

  • TLS 1.3 Transport Encryption: All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is secured via HTTPS/TLS 1.3.
  • Encrypted Databases: Sensitive tokens, password hashes (using Argon2/Bcrypt), and internal verification records are encrypted at rest with AES-256.
  • Access Control: Administrative access to user records is strictly restricted to verified compliance personnel.

6. Member Rights & Data Deletion

You have full autonomy over your data on TrustGrid, including:

  • Access & Export: Request a complete copy of all business and endorsement records associated with your account.
  • Rectification: Correct or update obsolete phone numbers, addresses, and service tags.
  • Account & Listing Erasure: Request permanent removal of your business profile and associated trust data. Requests are processed within 72 business hours.
